Jamaican Soup Mix

I have a couple of friends at my work that are Jamaican and they told me about a website for Jamaican spices. That website had some great spices on it but I just can't see myself trying the above soup mix.

Is this supposed to make me want to try the BBQ sandwich at White Castle?

I don't know but I was walking by a White Castle yesterday and saw the sign above in their window. I have not tried the new BBQ pork sandwich that they have there but a slogan like that just makes me think about the original slogan. Happier than a pig in s**t is not something that actually makes me want to eat a pork sandwich.

Heard a bad joke last week at the bar and I hope I get this right:

Sex in the dark

There was this couple that had been married for 20 years. Every time they made love the husband always insisted on shutting off the lights.

Well, after 20 years the wife felt this was ridiculous. She figured she would break him out of this crazy habit. So one night, while they were in the middle of a wild, screaming, romantic session, she turned on the lights.

She looked down ... and saw her husband was holding a battery operated pleasure device... a vibrator ... soft, wonderful and larger than a real one.

She goes completely ballistic. "You impotent bastard," she screamed at him, "how could you be lying to me all of these years? You better explain yourself!"

The husband looks her straight in the eyes and says calmly: "I'll explain the toy... if you explain the kids."

Another Des Plaines Business Bites The Dust

Sim's Bowl a business that I used to go to as a kid is closing after 55 years. I have said it before that this town wants to build more buildings for new business but they won't help the ones that are already here.

Ugly Looking Trees

I understand that they cut the trees so that don't end up in the wires above. I just wish they could take a little bit more time on it because some of these trees just look plain ridiculous after they get done with them.......

Sinkhole Rant

So I decided to take a walk around my neighborhood yesterday and to my surprise I came across a giant sinkhole in Des Plaines. This was a project that was supposed to be finished in 2 weeks and now its like Day 59. I know this a giant sinkhole but this town can't even fix the potholes in it. If they want to attract new business then maybe they should take care of the few establishments that they have left before they leave town also.

Fair Play

I am one that does not usually take sides when it comes to political matters. I am not saying that I am representing a catholic view when I grew up a practicing catholic but what's fair is fair.

Today President Obama will be giving a commencement speech at Notre Dame and a lot of people will be protesting (which is there right). They will be protesting because he is pro abortion and Catholics are against that because they are pro life. On the other hand George W. Bush gave a speech at Notre Dame in 2001 and there was not a whole lot of protesting going on. When George W. Bush was Governor for six years he presided over 152 executions and I believe that is not pro life.

I am in favor of executions of individuals who I believe justly deserve to be executed. On the issue of pro abortion I really can't take a stand on that because I am not a woman and don't believe that I really should have a say on that issue.

I am only saying this because he is the President of the United States and even though I have many issues I don't agree with him about. I believe anytime you have a President giving a commencement speech for your graduating class you should consider that an honor.

New Music

I will be the first to admit that I probably don't like a lot of the music being pushed to the public now. If the music from the video above would be pushed a little bit more than the glorified karaoke singers they have now I might enjoy the new music scene a bit more.

Blackhawks Round 3

Been busy and haven't had time to post but today is the start of the third round in the Stanley Cup and its been a long time since the blackhawks have gotten this far. I think the video above sums up how I feel.

Jake Shimabukuro Live

I bought the new Jake Shimabukuro Live CD recently and have found out three of the songs on the cd are from a show I went to last year with a couple of friends at the Old Towne School Of Folk Music in Chicago. The three songs are Me & Shirley T, Let's Dance and Blue Roses Falling (Hanahou). The above video is a version of Me & Shirley T Live and no not the show we went to but still not bad for somebody just playing a ukulele.

Blackhawks Down 1-0

The Blackhawks are down 1-0 in the best of 7 in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Game 2 is tonight and if they can steal one tonight it would look a lot better for them when they come home for the next two.
