Fair Play

I am one that does not usually take sides when it comes to political matters. I am not saying that I am representing a catholic view when I grew up a practicing catholic but what's fair is fair.

Today President Obama will be giving a commencement speech at Notre Dame and a lot of people will be protesting (which is there right). They will be protesting because he is pro abortion and Catholics are against that because they are pro life. On the other hand George W. Bush gave a speech at Notre Dame in 2001 and there was not a whole lot of protesting going on. When George W. Bush was Governor for six years he presided over 152 executions and I believe that is not pro life.

I am in favor of executions of individuals who I believe justly deserve to be executed. On the issue of pro abortion I really can't take a stand on that because I am not a woman and don't believe that I really should have a say on that issue.

I am only saying this because he is the President of the United States and even though I have many issues I don't agree with him about. I believe anytime you have a President giving a commencement speech for your graduating class you should consider that an honor.

New Music

I will be the first to admit that I probably don't like a lot of the music being pushed to the public now. If the music from the video above would be pushed a little bit more than the glorified karaoke singers they have now I might enjoy the new music scene a bit more.

Blackhawks Round 3

Been busy and haven't had time to post but today is the start of the third round in the Stanley Cup and its been a long time since the blackhawks have gotten this far. I think the video above sums up how I feel.

Jake Shimabukuro Live

I bought the new Jake Shimabukuro Live CD recently and have found out three of the songs on the cd are from a show I went to last year with a couple of friends at the Old Towne School Of Folk Music in Chicago. The three songs are Me & Shirley T, Let's Dance and Blue Roses Falling (Hanahou). The above video is a version of Me & Shirley T Live and no not the show we went to but still not bad for somebody just playing a ukulele.

Blackhawks Down 1-0

The Blackhawks are down 1-0 in the best of 7 in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Game 2 is tonight and if they can steal one tonight it would look a lot better for them when they come home for the next two.

Chicago River At Night

I went to a baseball game with some friends a couple of nights ago and took the above picture of the Chicago river on my way back to the train. I just thought it was kind of a cool picture so that is why I'm posting it.

Sinkhole......What is it day 42, 43, 44 ????

So I ran out of smokes this morning and had to run to the local 7-11 to grab a pack and get a cup of Joe and what do I come across on my way there? Its the Freaking sinkhole on Lee street that was supposed to be finished after two weeks. I guess after they found the bridge under the pavement they must have found a troll below the pavement also...
